During Teen Tech Week in March, Splat Space, a hackerspace in Durham, taught the Game Design program. Teens created their own game design using the software Scratch . If you are not familiar with game design software. Scratch is a free online, graphical program developed by the MIT Media Lab. The game allows the user to design computer animations and multimedia projects. If you are interested in learning more about Scratch please check out the book Scratch 2.0 Programming for Teens by Jerry Lee Ford, Jr. We have copies at Durham County Library.
Teens interested in designing, building and learning about game design will have the opportunity to use Kodu, a Microsoft product, to develop a game and increase team builing skills. Join us, April 14-17 from 3:30-4:45 p.m. in the computer lab.
